Two young best friends critical after electric scooter, vehicle collision in Aston
Two girls are in critical condition after police say they were struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Aston Township Saturday afternoon.
ASTON, Pa. - The Delaware County community is rallying around two young girls critically injured while riding an electric scooter on Saturday afternoon.
What we know:
On Saturday at around 2:18 p.m., Aston Township police officers, firefighters and EMS units responded to the area of Lehr Boulevard and Concord Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving an electric scooter.
Upon arrival, authorities found two juvenile females who were struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter.

Police say both girls sustained serious, life-threatening injuries secondary to the collision.
The two were rushed to Nemours Children's Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
No citations or criminal charges have been filed at this time.
Lehr Boulevard was closed during the incident and subsequent investigation, but has since reopened to traffic.
What they're saying:
Family members of both girls spoke to FOX 29 and identified them as Isabella "Bella" Jones, 11, and her best friend, Abigail Gillon, 12.
They say both girls are fighting for their lives at the Delaware hospital.
"One of them can’t live without the other we need both of them, they are like hand-in-hand best friends," said Sean Jones, Bella’s older brother.
Jones says the pair were riding together on an electric scooter when they hit a curb and were struck by a car.
"They fell and unfortunately the car came around and didn’t see them, it was very tragic," said Joyce Cardwell, Bella’s cousin.
Bella’s brother, who says he views both girls as younger sisters, has as strong message about kids riding electric scooters.
"Those scooters, they need to go, the fact that they can go that fast you should need a license to be able to drive one or even buy one," he says. "Don’t get them for your kids, they’re not worth it."
What you can do:
Cardwell set up this GoFundMe page for Bella and her family, and a family friend set up this GoFundMe page for Abigail and her family, to help them navigate medical expenses, as they both anticipate long roads ahead.
A coach within the Delaware County swimming community tells FOX 29 he started this fundraiser to be split evenly among both families.
